Project Runway Winner Christian Siriano Shows his Winner 2009 Collection Christian Siriano for Payless Shoes
My first reaction watching the Project Runway winner - Christian Siriano’s show on the 19th of February was: this guy gets it.
Great collection consisted of pleated shirt dresses, wool sweater dresses, pyramid skirts all in chocolate, mocha or chestnut colors. Siriano presentation was consistent and original. Girls were wearing hats or beaded fringes.
The part I loved a lot was his finale outfit giving us all a "wow" moment. The audience, full of admiration, applauded, the 23-year-old Siriano showed up - fun and confident as if shows were his second nature.
Christian Siriano showed his first footware collection - the Fall 09 Christian Siriano for Payless. The shoes blend the sleek runway aestetic and give them an edgy direction. Each style features Siriano’s conical heel and textural prints. The Christian Siriano for Payless shoe collection will be available in stores this September.
Zac Posen Winter 2009 Collection Manolo Blahnik Shoe Designs
The five pianos on the runway made everyone wonder what’s going to happen and got us ready for a beautiful, romantic performance before the show even started. The 5 Browns - five brothers and sisters piano virtuosos performed at the Zac Posen show tonight.
The collection was gorgeous, models slowly walking and stopping at the end of the runway showing their breath-taking ensembles and gowns. They were romantic and mystical. The collection was a mix of romanticism and the feminine silhouettes from the 1940s. The pieces were full of passion, fantasy and showed the woman’s power of self-expression.
All this topped with the shoes - amazing designs by the name every woman has heard of… Manolo Blahnik

Michael Kors Winter 2009 Collection New York Fashion Week
The models at the Michael Kors show this morning were conveying power and confidence. The pieces were tailored, sleek and sexy with assymetry and sculptural details. Black, white and charcoal with bringht orange, pink and neon yellow popping up on occassion.
The sculptural elements - heels, clutches, were a nice finishing touch to the modern, urban look.
Nanette Lepore Winter 2009 Collection, New York Fashion Week

Every seat at Nanette Lepore had a postcard adressed to mayor Bloomberg demanding to ’save the garment center" and promote made in the USA clothing. I signed it and returned it to one of the girls collecting them.
Nanette Lepore collection was glowing with amber, orange and shades of brown. Shimmering elements, skirts and tops were giving us the feel of the city at night. "Paris at twilight" is what Lepore called her Winter 2009 collection. The knits were romantic but the asymmetry of the pieces were sending a modern at times even futuristic message.

Diesel Winter 2009 Inspired by Jazz New York Fashion Week
Diesel Fall Winter 2009 collection started with a shadow of a musician playing the trumpet. Then the whole jazz band got revealed and the fashion show started.
The collection was inspired by jazz - Diesel pieces, just like jazz were sophisticated, modern and full of improvisation. Slim, fitted jackets where heavy fabrics are layered with light silks with wool and leather. Grey, white and black are the prevailing colors contrasted with red, teal, black and white high-heeled laced mules.
Lovely accessories. The roomy wax leather bags and smaller bags with metallic details: buckles, rivets and jewel-like rings. The collections are completed with wooden sticks decorated with silver or ivory grips.
Diane von Furstenberg Winter 2009 Finale
Diane von Furstenberg - New York Fashion Week Winter 2009
Diane von Furstenberg, one of my favorite designers showed us once again an amazing collection full of art, class and elegance. Animal print leggins and dresses toned with cute, comfy looking cardigans, black and white geometric pattern jackets, tight leather pants, gorgeous metallic dresses - all these ensembles were tied beautifully with great funky looking, huge pom pom hats.
My favorite outfit from the whole collection!

New York Fashion Week Barbie Show
Backstage at the New York Fashion Week after the Barbie fashion show. The jacket I’m wearing is LAMB by Gwen Stefani and the boots are from Hobbs, London.
I have left the tents and the New York Fashion Week for the day but I’m still blown away by the Barbie fashion show.
Over 50 American designers created their interpretation of a Barbie doll outfit and showed it at the fashion show during the NYFW on Valentine’s Day. From Nanette Lepore, Nicole Miller, Marchesa, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, Diane Von Furstenberg and many others viewed the clothes of the "global fashion icon" with their eyes.

New York Fashion Week Before the Lacoste Show
I chatted with a photographer who has been working for Women’s Wear Daily for 12 years. He told me there are 5 spots on the media riser to get best shots. There are clearly more than 5 photographers here…
