Cabbages and Condoms Bangkok

steamed shrimp with peanuts in tomato sauce served in a coconut, thai icetea
Tonight I had a great meal at Cabbages and Condoms. I usually wouldn’t write about food but I found this place unusual. Located in Sukhumvit 12 in Bangkok this place serves delicious food with a mission. The restaurant is decorated with posters and sculptures with prevention messages. All the proceeds go towards sex education and sex prevention programs in Thailand.
What Would Google Do
Any airline that serves icecream on board will be mentioned on my blog ;-) so thank you Cathay Pacific. I decided to take What Would Google Do by Jeff Jarvis with me to Thailand. Really good book, very timely. The subchapters I enjoyed the most were
- your customers are your ad agency
- make mistakes well
- be a platform
And thanks to the amazingness of Twitter, I told the author Jeff Jarvis about it

Narita Airport Guilty Pleasures
Being an avid traveller I deal a lot with luggage losses, delays and sometimes long layovers. There’s one airport I never mind waiting at. It’s Narita in Tokyo. Walking around is an experience in its kind no matter how many times I go there, a mini taste of Tokyo. I always have my favorite udon shrimp tempura, stock up on Shiseido products at the Narita Duty Free and head to the free internet Yahoo lounge.

Most of us can admit there is stuff we spend too much money on or too often. I definitely have to say one of "this stuff" is lotions. This is me usually at Narita (I’m after the 14h JFK-NRT flight)…

So this is my bathroom shelf
I can admit my shelf is a bit much. However I’m not as extreme as those buying La Prairie Cellular Cream Platinum Rare. The lotion does contain platinum but a jar of it is $1,000 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Besides over-stocking up on lotions my other "addiction" (or guilty pleasure, hahaha) at Narita is buying little cellphone charms. I don’t put them on my phone but attach them to my bags.

My Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag got a bit overcrowded

Beautiful Boy
I met this boy in Samui, Thailand and we immediately became as he said "best friends."
He is probably one of the most beautiful child I have seen.
Here is a short interview. Just add "you know what…" in front of every answer, that’s his favorite expression.
- What’s your name
- Zaha
- How old are you?
- 4 1/2
- Where do you live?
- Over there
- What’s your favorite food?
- Vegetable soup
- What do you like doing?
- Play with my brother
- What would you like to do when you’re big?
- Television
Stop in Life - Koh Samui, South of Thailand
I
Michael Gerber in one of his books, E-Myths Revisited recommended something that I live by. He said it’s important to stop in your life. Just like in the kids’ game where after hearing "freeze" everyone stops moving, you too should freeze/stop in life.
Stopping what you’re doing for an entrepreneur can mean remords that work could be done during this time, fear of missing something or just simply stating it’s not the right time to stop.
My idea of stopping involves travelling, very often by myself to get more thinking done. Don’t get me wrong, I do relax too but just the joy of taking off by myself and meeting all these new people is so refreshing and fun. As far as thinking I evaluate if I’m going after the right things. So often we do chase wrong things only because we’re "in the zone", surronded by other chasers. Also just taking a break and going away is so energizing…
Plan your stop.
