Designers Using Social Media - Diane von Furstenberg

Being a fan of Diane von Furstenberg I really love the fact that she uses social media. The designer started a blog - Inside DVF where she lets us look behind the scenes - from show preparations to interviews and stories from her life as a designer. During the New York Fashion Week, Inside DVF features "Show DIary" showing us the backstage and the work of the models, crew involved in the production of the show.

Diane von Furstenberg has also a Facebook fan page where fans find out about new pieces, specials and promotions. The designer also features a Fan of the Week. This week I was the lucky one to be chosen! The photo is from the Designers for Cancer event, which I attended last week. More info on this summer dress

    @cm no, actually no discount but just being featured on the DVF website was fun! If you join the DVF facebook group, they do send discounts sometimes.

    Just curious, does the fan of the week actually win something, like a discount or a piece of merchandise?
  • Using your customers - featuring them in weekly photos, using them in your professional shoots, etc. is a fantastic marketing tactic. Showing women "in real life" allows your other customers to identify more closely with the woman they're seeing with your product.
