Betsey Johnson Meeting

What a surprise. This morning at the New York Fashion Week Betsey Johnson was hanging out at the Diet Pepsi booth. I got to meet her, briefly chat with her and wish her good luck at her show on Monday.

Betsey Johnson Spring 2011 – Castle Tiaras, Ride Me Necklaces, Navy Inspired Dresses, Bubbly, Pink and Fun at Betsey Johnson
The Betsey Johnson Spring 2011 show had navy and bubbly themes all tied together by a fun attitude. The models were walking and having fun. They were striking poses, laughing and playing on a runway transformed into a street. Ride Me necklaces, sparkly tiaras and headbands, colorful hair-ties, flower bracelets were all great complements to the oh so Betsey dresses.

After the Betsey Johnson show. I’m wearing a Betsey Johnson dress, gold cupcake necklace by Lucid New York and Topshop tights

Cupcake Necklace, Betsey Johnson Dress, Henri Bendel Headband, White Roses and how I said Thank You

I had a conversation with my mom about how much she dislikes when someone says "all the best" for birthdays, holidays, etc. In her opinion wishes should be more personalized, showing that you know the person. She recently even started writing short poems on cards, I remember crying reading one of them.
I totally agree and I think the same thing applies to a "thank you." My boyfriend sent me flowers and this is what I wrote to say that they arrived:
"if I was going to imagine a dream bouquet of flowers, that’s what it would look like. Thank you for making my dreams come true – these big and small ones."

Black Dress and the Japanese Touch
Everyone who knows me closer knows about my Japanese obsession. I went to Japan twice and fell in love with their style and fashion. That is also why Betsey Johnson is one of my favorite designers – I think Tokyo when I see her bows and frills. It’s hard to dress like a Harajuku girl in New York but I do love adding some Harajuku touches to my outfits.

I’m wearing a Betsey Johnson black dress,
Gucci shoes,
Zara scarf,
Burberry purse,
Lucid New York Hoop Earrings,
fancy leggins/legwarmers I got in Japan.

I’m a fan of knee high socks, which I love wearing with boots and a skirt and these fancy legwarmers are a great summer alternative. I wish I had got a pair in every color!
The Heart Truth
The Hearth Truth is a national campaign with a goal to make women aware about the risk of heart disease. The symbol of the Heart Truth is a red dress. The first show during the New York Fashion Week was The Hearth Truth show where designers such as Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Marchesa, Nicole Miller, Vera Wang and others designed each a red dress for the event.
Official Red Dress Pin created for the Heart Truth campaign. I picked up one extra. Who would like it? Please retweet my message on Twitter for a chance to win http://twitter.com/LucidAnna. One entry per person please. The winner will be chosen on Saturday the 14th noon EST.
