Christian Siriano Fall 2011 Finale
Check out the finale video for now, I have some amazing closeups of Christian Siriano for Payless new shoes collection as well that I’ll be sharing soon.
NYFW Schedule Day One

The New York Fashion Week began yesterday with the Heart Truth collection show but today is the official day one, the first day packed with shows and presentations taking place in so many locations that there is no way one could see and digest them all. I’m seeing and shooting these three shows today. I’m particularly looking forward to checking out the Kara Ross jewelry collaboration with Tadashi Shoji.
I’m also dying to see the new collection by Christian Siriano – former Project Runway winner.
Fall collections are my favorite to check out – everything is just more luxurious and rich. They’re definitely more challenging to create – making heavy fabrics appear airy and effortless. How much sequins are we still going to see? How long? I’ll let you see it all through my eyes with a particular emphasis on details and accessories.
Christian Siriano Spring 2011 Christian Siriano for Payless Shoes and Brad Walsh Jewelry
The Christian Siriano Spring 2011 collection was inspired by African, Indian and Chinese influences.

Shanghai shoe stresses strong Chinese influences with its chop-stick inspired heel and a sculptured wave design reminding of the back of a dragon. The Shanghai Siriano in Paprika red, grey-beige and chocolate brown will be available at Payless this February.

Christian Siriano got inspired to create Zanzi shoes from Africa – the unique tool was designed to look like a tool common among tribal people.

Among the leather shorts, tops and dresses this leather detail caught my attention.

Brad Walsh created jewelry for the Christian Siriano Spring 2011 collection.

Project Runway Winner Christian Siriano Shows his Winner 2009 Collection Christian Siriano for Payless Shoes
My first reaction watching the Project Runway winner – Christian Siriano’s show on the 19th of February was: this guy gets it.
Great collection consisted of pleated shirt dresses, wool sweater dresses, pyramid skirts all in chocolate, mocha or chestnut colors. Siriano presentation was consistent and original. Girls were wearing hats or beaded fringes.
The part I loved a lot was his finale outfit giving us all a "wow" moment. The audience, full of admiration, applauded, the 23-year-old Siriano showed up – fun and confident as if shows were his second nature.
Christian Siriano showed his first footware collection – the Fall 09 Christian Siriano for Payless. The shoes blend the sleek runway aestetic and give them an edgy direction. Each style features Siriano’s conical heel and textural prints. The Christian Siriano for Payless shoe collection will be available in stores this September.
