MacDella Cooper Foundation Hamptons Charity Event

Saturday was my doing good and partying in style day. That’s what best describes the MacDella Cooper Foundation benefit held in the Hamptons. The event started with the polo match. It was my first time attending a polo match and I have to say it was quite an experience.

I was hoping to learn the basic rules of polo but then realized noone was watching the match. Hamptons polo was all about socializing, drinking champagne and people watching with some horses running in the background.

CFDA Fashion Awards WWD Contest

I look at WWD.com as one of the industry leaders providing us news on fashion trends the fastest. They are especially active during the New York Fashion Week publishing their newspaper and covering the shows and news about designers extensively online.

Now WWD.com is promoting the CFDA Fashion Awards where you can vote for your favorite 2009 American designer. The CFDA award will be announced on June 15th. Needless to say it was so hard for me to pick just one name among such a great list of my favorites. I did manage to choose one name. Designers Using Social Media - Diane von Furstenberg

Being a fan of Diane von Furstenberg I really love the fact that she uses social media. The designer started a blog - Inside DVF where she lets us look behind the scenes - from show preparations to interviews and stories from her life as a designer. During the New York Fashion Week, Inside DVF features "Show DIary" showing us the backstage and the work of the models, crew involved in the production of the show.

Diane von Furstenberg has also a Facebook fan page where fans find out about new pieces, specials and promotions. The designer also features a Fan of the Week. This week I was the lucky one to be chosen! The photo is from the Designers for Cancer event, which I attended last week. More info on this summer dress.

Diane von Furstenberg, one of my favorite designers showed us once again an amazing collection full of art, class and elegance. Animal print leggins and dresses toned with cute, comfy looking cardigans, black and white geometric pattern jackets, tight leather pants, gorgeous metallic dresses - all these ensembles were tied beautifully with great funky looking, huge pom pom hats.

New York Fashion Week Barbie Show

I have left the tents and the New York Fashion Week for the day but I’m still blown away by the Barbie fashion show.

Over 50 American designers created their interpretation of a Barbie doll outfit and showed it at the fashion show during the NYFW on Valentine’s Day. From Nanette Lepore, Nicole Miller, Marchesa, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, Diane Von Furstenberg and many others viewed the clothes of the "global fashion icon" with their eyes.
