Who’s Next Paris Show

I just got back from Paris where I attended Who’s Next and Pret-a-Porter shows. Designers were showing their Spring and Summer 2010 collections. I’m working on the posts covering the new trends shown, the trends that seem to stay from last season. I’ll look closer at one of the largest booths at the show – Ed Hardy and their brand new spring shoe collection as well as a cutting edge unusual handbag designer and amazing hat designs submitted for the "African Landscape Hat Contest." These hats are out of this world!

First Day of Summer

Today is the first day of summer and I decided to treat it a little like January 1st and write my summer to-do list.

First my travel/events schedule (for now):

June 26 – 28 – my friends birthday weekend in the Hamptons

July 1 – 11 – trip with my friends to Cartagena (Colombia) and Panama

July 14 – August 4th – photography classes

July 24 – July 26 – Hamptons weekend – MacDella Foundation polo match/dinner benefit on July 25th

August 9th – my best friend’s Kelley’s wedding

August 20 – 24 – New York International Gift Show and my showing of Lucid New York Holiday 2009 collection

Sept 1-8 – Paris trip and Pret-a-Porter Paris Fashion Week

Sept 10-17 – New York Fashion Week

Things on my summer to-do list:

- take sailing lessons (done, took sailing classes May 30 ad June 1st) and sail

- see Shakespeare in the Park (going on Tuesday)

- take photography lessons and play with my toy Nikon D90 (signed up!)

- read the Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb and the follow book Fooled by Randomness

- get better at tennis

- attend concerts in the park

- and many other friends’ birthdays, rooftop parties and summer fun…

The Hottest Color for Next Winter

This is going to be my last post from Paris and what I’ve seen there as I’m starting the fabulous coverage of the New York Fashion Week tomorrow. At the last week’s Pret-a-Porter in Paris designers were showing next winter collections. I did notice some trends. My observations:

- dominance of grey

- some orange

- coats belted with leather

- more grey

Basically the designers’ clothing racks looked like that

and like that

I really got into grey after my trip. But grey spiced up.

Here is my interpretation

Barbie 50 Years Anniversary Exhibit – Paris Pret-a-Porter

I have been pretty busy with the last minute Valentine’s Day orders so didn’t have a chance to post more stuff from my Paris trip. Things have gotten more normal now and I’m all caught up (yeah right….)

Here it is! Barbie is turning 50. Mattel is organizing a show during the New York Fashion Week inviting 50 designers to create clothing for Barbie and Christian Louboutin to design all the shoes for Barbie. Last week in Paris, during the Pret-a-Porter show, Barbie’s 50th anniversary was celebrated with "Barbie’s Accessories" exhibit. Here are some of my favorites
