Today I was walking through the Meatpacking district to the Hudson river and saw these 3 little pigs in the street. They were looking at the Destination shop of curiosities. I thought about this marketing catch and how much I loved it. Put something unexpected out, even something not related to your brand to shock people and make them ask "why?"
This "3 little pigs marketing trick" was also applied in Starbucks when one day they were serving free icecream. Why icecream at Starbucks? Is Starbucks going to be selling icecream now? If people asked just one of these questions, that’s exactly what they wanted – make us alert, notice and think.
