Ashton Kutcher vs CNN Twitter Battle @aplusk vs @cnnbrk
Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk on twitter) challenged CNN (@cnnbrk on twitter) to a contest over who is going to reach 1 mln followers on Twitter first.
Yes, it came down to this – a man is competing the whole network.
In a close battle, Ashton reached 1 mln followers before CNN becoming the most popular person on Twitter. He was streaming live on the internet while CNN was reporting live.
"We changed the way we broadcast and edit. We can all do it, do it together" – Ashton Kutcher.
Congrats Ashton Kutcher!
PS I don’t follow @cnnbrk. I don’t follow networks, I follow people. That’s, in my opinion, the idea behind Twitter.
What Would Google Do
Any airline that serves icecream on board will be mentioned on my blog ;-) so thank you Cathay Pacific. I decided to take What Would Google Do by Jeff Jarvis with me to Thailand. Really good book, very timely. The subchapters I enjoyed the most were
- your customers are your ad agency
- make mistakes well
- be a platform
And thanks to the amazingness of Twitter, I told the author Jeff Jarvis about it

The Heart Truth
The Hearth Truth is a national campaign with a goal to make women aware about the risk of heart disease. The symbol of the Heart Truth is a red dress. The first show during the New York Fashion Week was The Hearth Truth show where designers such as Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Marchesa, Nicole Miller, Vera Wang and others designed each a red dress for the event.
Official Red Dress Pin created for the Heart Truth campaign. I picked up one extra. Who would like it? Please retweet my message on Twitter for a chance to win http://twitter.com/LucidAnna. One entry per person please. The winner will be chosen on Saturday the 14th noon EST.
Entrepreneur Magazine Growth 2.0 Conference – free
The Growth 2.0 conference in Long Beach on December 9th is free to attend. With the keynote from Robert Kiyosaki and the editors of Entrepreneur ready to listen to your pitches, the conference is a "must-attend." Unfortunately it’s a bad time for me as I’ll be in the middle of the Holiday season with my jewelry sales so definitely please let me know how it is, via Twitter would be best http://twitter.com/LucidAnna.
Thanks!!!
What I did when I lost my iPhone 3G
I lost my iPhone 3G yesterday and the first thing I did was try and find out its location. I have a Twitter account but unfortunately I erased my GSM location after I got a twitter from a stranger saying he knows my crosstreets. I looked into FindMe and found out that I should have set up a separate Twitter account for my iPhone. This way my iPhone would have been twittering its GSM location on a regular basis. But the iPhone would be only able to twitter the location if it has the internet access. Thinking more about FindMe, I realized that it has little use in New York anyway. What good does it do to know the crosstreets of the location of your iPhone if at the crosstreets in NY there are usually hundreds of people
I immediately blocked my number at the AT&T and found out I was no longer ellegible for the discount and that I’d have to pay the full price of $499 for a new iPhone. :-( I started imagining other options and became sad… How can you get another phone after owning an iPhone…
I went to the Apple store and fortunately I didn’t have to wait in line since I’ve already waited in one before.
I got it, I love it, I’m happy I own it again.
I got a clear case for it by Agent18. Looks great!!!
Manga Me – the Fun of Avatars
Hello, please meet Anna Sabino. I look exactly like that, only my necklace is longer, I don’t like chokers. I love my Lucid shirt. And the stars are cool, oh so cool!

Hahahaha, you can create your anime avatar using www.faceyourmanga.com. It’s free to see your avatar and about $2.50 to download it. I have to admit that this is probably one of the most weird purchases I’ve made in a while… Twitter users are all about that now. Soon there will be more users on Twitter with avatars than with regular pictures!
Should you be using Twitter when not Single?
"it’s a site where you post updates about what you’re doing"
"And?"
"And then you can read other people’s updates too"
"What kind of updates?"
"Depends, some people write about what they’re eating and other updates have more substance"
"Why would you do that?"
I am on Twitter and had to explain what it is many times and those unfamiliar ones, gave me looks ranging from "I’m curious" and "I don’t understand" to "I think you’re crazy." It’s ok if I’m explaining it to friends but what if one day it’s my new significant other, the one who I want to impress, who asks me: "What are you doing?" Am I gonna say "I’m tweeting"? And how am I going to explain what Twitter is…
Let’s say he never sees me tweeting but stumbles upon and finds out I am on Twitter. There he sees what I eat, where I hang out, who I @, what I do. The whole mysterious side of me, the side I was trying to impress him with so much, vanishes. I become predictable…
So should you be using Twitter when not single?
